Sunday, September 26, 2010 Clewiston, FL to Fort Pierce, FL

Leaving Roland & Mary Martin's Marina 8:30 AM.

We stayed here right after Hurrican Wilma about 5 years ago and to the right was several rows of covered docks that got hit pretty hard...but I was shocked there weren't boats there anymore. Sad :(

Clewiston Lock right by  marina was open thru coming in last night and this morning too.

What is this thing in the middle of Lake Okeechobee??

It is 26 miles across Lake Okeechobee and that is not at the widest part. This is a BIG lake.

Port Mayaca Lock....it was open thru also.

See...more cows.

Port St. Lucie Lock....brought us down about 14 feet...ahhh back to sea level. And,
down the St. Lucie Canal we go.

Marina on the canal. Lots of big boats.

There were actually 2 boats sunk in this subdivision but I missed getting the other one.

Coming into the Indian River (Inter Coastal Waterway) on the East Coast.
This is the inlet to the Atlantic Ocean down in Port St. Lucie.
From here we had to head North to get back up to Fort Pierce. I didn't take any more pics today. But
we got into Harbor Town Marina, Fort Pierce, FL at 4:15 PM.
We are pretty tired from traveling on the water 3 full days in a row.
I will post more of the marina soon.
Keep checking back!

Like the blog. Great use of collage to tell the story. Notice, though, that some of your captions are obscured by the photo on top. Yet another thing to fix....

The thing out in the middle of Lake O looks like some kind of sensor / transmitter (note antenna on top...perhaps water depth/current/quality/ etc?

Keep those posts coming. Hope you guys enjoy Marathon. Perhaps we'll get together this winter and do some fishin'....

Take care, sailors. Sure miss you guys.
